Guess what – it’s baseball season! And also Water Taxi season, as you see in this picture. One of the best things about going to a Yankees game is taking the water taxi from downtown all the way up to the Bronx. And it costs all of one dollar to reserve your seat. It’s awesome. Who doesn’t like cruising on the Hudson? Also, you can buy beer. That’s Allison, Stacy, and I when we were still docked at the South Street Seaport.

And here is Stacy after we get cruisin’:

Hey, Stacy! Stacy is one of my awesomest friends and she currently lives in my neighborhood! Sadly only for about ten more days as she’s moving to Austin shortly. I will miss her ’cause we’ve had some super fun times. Also I look forward to seeing her when I go visit my dad in Texas in October. It’s gonna be SWEET.

And the one picture from the game with all the girls:

I love this picture. We all had fun at the game and the tickets were only six dollars! That’s some cheap entertainment. Of course we bought hot dogs and beers and garlic fries to make up for it though. Ha. I look forward to going to more games this season, especially as it gets nicer out. Go Yankees! (And the Detroit Tigers, natch.)

Oh also – we met Tracy Morgan after the game. He was nice and took a photo with us. Thanks, Tracy – we all love 30 Rock!

Ok, I think I might be a Yankees fan now. A couple of weeks ago I went to my second game for the season and it was A-mazing. Last time, it was opening week and it was freezing and we left half way through. This time, it was perfect and the game was so exciting, we stayed for the whole thing! Three hours + of baseball. And we liked it. It might have helped that I was with Kelly and that we made a few stops to get food, such as this Carl’s Philly Cheesesteak above. Um, I’ve never had a Philly’s Cheesesteak until I went to Yankees stadium. And it was good. KP even got hers with cheez whiz. Oh yes she did.

So Yankees versus the Boston Red Sox. Holy cow. We were winning major first inning and then the Sox came back and were beating us all until the ninth inning where the Yankees exploded in home runs. We were off our SEATS cheering for baseball. Completely absurd. So we won with a walk-off (fancy term I learned from Miss Detroit Tigers herself) and then the stadium blasted Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York.” Could not have been more fitting. Everyone was going nuts and the song just topped it off. Such little New Yorkers we are. And they had to have played the song at least twenty times because it was still going by the time we went through the crazy madness and made it outside. It’s up to you, New York, New York!

P and I went to the Yankees versus the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim game last night. It was my first time in the new stadium and it was pretty nice!

Here’s $50 of food from Nathan’s.

Here’s the view from $20 seats:

And here’s some happy campers:

The Yankees killed it, of course. I mean how could they not after stealing Curtis Granderson from the Detroit Tigers? I was going to buy a Granderson t-shirt, too, but they were sold out! And next time, I’m getting ice cream from Carvel. :)

Oh, and by the way, they gave out free hats last night to basically the entire stadium except for us. We even asked for them and they wouldn’t give some to us. We thought maybe they were just for fancy seats, but when we got to our seats we realized everyone had them. We were gypped.

Hmm… maybe I’ll have to get a BoSox hat instead. :)

Yankee vision

I’m not the hugest baseball fan, and if I was, I’d be Team Tigers all the way. But, it looks like one of my “home” teams just won the World Series! Congrats, Yankees and their fans!

Earlier this week, I walked through Times Square briefly after a volleyball game in Hell’s Kitchen and realized the game was being showed on the giant TV on Broadway. How fun to be chillin outside in Times Square and still be able to watch the game? Go Yanks.
